Operational update - 22 September 2022 - Black Sea Grain Initiative/Joint Coordination Centre

22 September 2022, ISTANBUL – The Joint Coordination Centre (JCC) reports that six vessels left Ukrainian ports today carrying a total of 102,320 metric tons of grain and other food products under the Black Sea Grain Initiative.

The vessels that began their outbound voyage on 22 September, are:

1) ELLIE M (IMO 9235854) from Chornomorsk to Spain, carrying 50,220 metric tons of corn.

2) BC VANESSA (IMO 9426855) from Odesa to Afghanistan via Türkiye, carrying 30,000 wheat. This vessel is a WFP chartered vessel and its cargo will support humanitarian efforts in Afghanistan.

3) MOHAMAD Y (IMO 8107000) from Odesa to Türkiye, carrying 11,000 metric tons of wheat.

4) ANT (IMO 9412311) from Odesa to Türkiye, carrying 4,500 metric tons of barley.

5) ORIS MARINE (IMO 9179488) from Odesa to Türkiye, carrying 3,500 metric tons of sunflower oil.

6) ALSU (IMO 9808742) from Yuzhny/Pivdennyi to Damietta, Egypt, carrying 3,100 metric tons of sunflower oil.

Destinations indicated are based on information received at the JCC and may change based on commercial activity. Grains that reach a destination may go through processing and be trans-shipped to other countries.

As of 22 September, the total tonnage of grain and other foodstuffs exported from the three Ukrainian ports is 4,350,399 metric tons. A total of 403 voyages (212 inbound and 191 outbound) have been enabled so far.

Today, the JCC concluded eleven inspections, six inbound, ALMERAY (IMO 9300910), FREZYA S (IMO 9353022), LADY DIVINA (IMO 9354052), LUCKY TRADER (IMO 9427574), MAGNUM FORTUNE (IMO 9488970), and PATRONUS (IMO 9320324), and five outbound, INCE AKDENIZ (IMO 9456460), MAHER (IMO 8806905), SUPER HENRY (IMO 9407483), TAMREY S (IMO 9171541), and VALERIO (IMO 9244037).

As per procedures agreed at the JCC, all participants coordinate with their respective military and other relevant authorities to ensure the safe passage of commercial vessels under the Black Sea Grain Initiative.

The JCC monitors closely the passage of commercial vessels through the maritime humanitarian corridor.

It comprises senior representatives from the Russian Federation, Türkiye, Ukraine and United Nations and its role is to enable the safe transportation, by merchant ships, of grain and other foodstuffs and fertilizers from three key Ukrainian ports in the Black Sea to the rest of the world.
