Sextortion

WFP Türkiye Representative and Country Director Stephen Cahill joins UN Türkiye agencies' #16Days of Activism campaign explaining “sextortion". 

Sextortion is blackmail using real or fabricated intimate images to force someone into unwanted actions. Girls and young women are particularly targeted by those who abuse trust built online. The fear that images will be shared with family, schools or employers becomes unbearable pressure. This is not flirtation, it's abuse and exploitation. What happens online does not stay online. Digital violence is real violence.
