The United Nations remains committed to supporting Palestinians and Israelis to end the conflict on the basis of international law, relevant UN resolutions and previous agreements said United Nations Turkey Officer in Charge Alvaro Rodriguez at the event organized for the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People in Ankara on 29 November.
Rodriguez reading UN Secretary General António Guterres’s message for the day at the event co-organized by Turkish government, Embassy of Palestine and the Arab League Representation in Ankara said “On this International Day of Solidarity, let us reaffirm our commitment to upholding the rights of the Palestinian people. The United Nations will not waver in its commitment to the Palestinian people as we strive to achieve their inalienable rights and build a future of peace, justice, security and dignity for Palestinians and Israelis alike.”
Transportation and Infrastructure Minister Mehmet Cahit Turhan, Ambassador of Palestine to Turkey, Representative of the Leauge of Arap States along with several representatives of diplomatic corps and invitees attended the event organized at the Nazım Hikmet Culture and Art Center.
Minister Turhan said Turkey will continue to support Palestine in its rightful case and keep acting in solidarity with the Palestinian People. One of Turkey’s biggest wish is to see Palestine as an equal and sovereign member in the international community stated Minister Turhan.
