UNIDO supported an event for World Ozone Day.
The Montreal Protocol has become the most successful multilateral environmental agreement with the signing of the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer on September 16, 1987, by all United Nations member states.
The national and international actions related to the Montreal Protocol, to which Türkiye was a party in 1991, were carried out under the coordination of the Climate Change Office under the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change of the Republic of Türkiye (MoEUCC).
World Ozone Day is celebrated every year on September 16 with various activities to raise awareness about the depletion of the ozone layer, and to draw attention to the preservation of the ozone layer. In Türkiye, since 2010, diverse events have been organized as part of World Ozone Day.
