Operational update - 10 September 2022 - Black Sea Grain Initiative/Joint Coordination Centre

10 September 2022, ISTANBUL – The Joint Coordination Centre (JCC) authorised today the movement of four outbound vessels carrying a total of 92,520 metric tons of grain and other food products under the Black Sea Grain Initiative.

The four commercial vessels authorised to move tomorrow, 11 September, are:

1) WIN SINO (IMO 9278519) from Yuzhny/Pivdennyi to India, carrying 43,500 metric tons of sunflower oil.

2) S-BRILLIANT (IMO 9275323) from Chornomorsk to Vlissingen, The Netherlands, carrying 40,220 metric tons of rapeseed.

3) ORIS SOFI (IMO 8920282) from Odesa to Salaata, Lebanon, and Mersin, Türkiye, carrying 6,000 metric tons of sunflower oil.

4) AHMET CAN (IMO 9368182) from Chornomorsk to Türkiye, carrying 2,800 metric tons of wheat bran pellets.

In addition, two more vessels whose scheduled departure today was delayed are expected to move tomorrow: MAGNOLIA (IMO 9575333) from Chornomorsk to Türkiye, carrying 6,600 sunflower oil; and BRIZA (IMO 9286815) from Chornomorsk to Psachna, Greece, carrying 6,500 metric tons of corn.

Destinations indicated are based on information received at the JCC and may change based on commercial activity. Grains that reach a destination may go through processing and transhipped to other countries.

As of 10 September, the total tonnage of grain and other foodstuffs exported from the three Ukrainian ports is 2,525,085 metric tons. A total of 248 voyages (135 inbound and 113 outbound) have been enabled so far.

The JCC concluded twelve eleven inspections on the following vessels: five inbound vessels, BELLA JUDI (IMO 9595371), ESENCE (IMO 7827342), GULMAR (IMO 9146962), LARA S (IMO 9334301), and PACIFIC ROSE (IMO 9299460) and seven outbound vessels, BARON (IMO 7352476), EAUBONNE (IMO 9663104), GOLDEN YARA (IMO 8915299), MY MERAY (IMO 9000302), NEW LEVANT (IMO 9111371), OCMIS ADVENTURE (IMO 8919831), and VITIS (IMO 9000613).

The joint teams plan twelve inspections tomorrow on nine inbound and three outbound vessels.

As per procedures agreed at the JCC, all participants coordinate with their respective military and other relevant authorities to ensure the safe passage of commercial vessels under the Black Sea Grain Initiative.

The JCC monitors closely the passage of commercial vessels through the maritime humanitarian corridor. 

Note to editors: The Joint Coordination Centre was established under the Black Sea Grain Initiative in Istanbul on 27 July 2022. It comprises senior representatives from the Russian Federation, Türkiye, Ukraine and United Nations and its role is to enable the safe transportation, by merchant ships, of grain and other foodstuffs and fertilizers from three key Ukrainian ports in the Black Sea to the rest of the world.
