Operational update - 6 September 2022 - Black Sea Grain Initiative/Joint Coordination Centre

6 September 2022, ISTANBUL – The Joint Coordination Centre (JCC) authorised today the movement of five outbound vessels carrying a total of 129,538 metric tons of grain and other food products under the Black Sea Grain Initiative.

The five commercial vessels authorised to move tomorrow, 7 September, are:

1) SEAGUARDIAN (IMO 9174268) Yuzhny/Pivdennyi to Cartagena, Spain, carrying 62,266 metric tons of barley, wheat, and sunflower seed.

2) SUPER HENRY (IMO 9407483) from Odesa to Kenya, carrying 51,400 metric tons of wheat.

3) DIGNITY (IMO 9118238) from Chornomorsk to Türkiye, carrying 8,200 metric tons of sunflower seed.

4) ELIANA (IMO 9327310) from Chornomorsk to Tekirdag, Türkiye, carrying 5,200 metric tons of sunflower oil.

5) KAPTAN CEVDET (IMO 9005895) from Chornomorsk to Bandirma, Türkiye, carrying 2,472 metric tons of soya beans.

Destinations indicated are based on information received at the JCC and may change based on commercial activity.

As of 6 September, the total tonnage of grain and other foodstuffs exported from the three Ukrainian ports is 2,212,972 metric tons. A total of 204 voyages (108 inbound and 96 outbound) have been enabled so far.

The JCC concluded today five inspections on the following vessels: two inbound vessels, YASA TEAM (IMO 9296250) and VALERIO (IMO 9244037), and three outbound vessels, CANOPUS (IMO 9401025), SEA DOLPHIN C (IMO 9486427), and STELLA GS (IMO 9363285).

The joint teams plan twelve inspections tomorrow, three on inbound vessels and nine on outbound.

As per procedures agreed at the JCC, all participants coordinate with their respective military and other relevant authorities to ensure the safe passage of commercial vessels under the Black Sea Grain Initiative.

The JCC monitors closely the passage of commercial vessels through the maritime humanitarian corridor.

It comprises senior representatives from the Russian Federation, Türkiye, Ukraine and United Nations and its role is to enable the safe transportation, by merchant ships, of grain and other foodstuffs and fertilizers from three key Ukrainian ports in the Black Sea to the rest of the world.
