In her speech, Karaman stressed that Beşiktaş Municipality is gratified with the ongoing collaboration with UN Women and said “"8th of March commemorates the fight women are fighting in all fields of life. The purple wave enfolding the world today is a sign of both the gravity of gender inequalities and that of the ever-growing solidarity among women. In different countries of the world, women are struggling for equal pay for equal work, equal rights and opportunities, and ending harassment and violence, male domination over the female body. I respectfully commemorate all women who have worked hard in the history of gender equality and women's movement.
