Joint Coordination Centre Operational Update (31 August)

31 August 2022, ISTANBUL – The Joint Coordination Centre (JCC) authorized today the movement of four outbound vessels carrying a total of 125,380 metric tons of grain and other food products under the Black Sea Grain Initiative.

The four commercial vessels authorized to move tomorrow, 1 September, are:

1) ENEIDA (IMO 9198381) from Chornomorsk to Türkiye, carrying 35,470 metric tons of wheat and 8,560 metric tons of corn.

2) MASSA J (IMO 9224867) from Yuzhny/Pivdennyi to Somalia carrying 28,500 metric tons of wheat.

3) HELGA (IMO 9444912) from Odesa to Türkiye, carrying 27,000 metric tons of corn.

4) DAYTONA DYNAMIC (IMO 8914726) from Odesa to Türkiye, carrying 25,850 metric tons of corn.

In addition, two more vessels whose scheduled departure today was delayed are expected to move tomorrow. These are: AFANASIY MATYUSHENKO (IMO 8227783) from Chornomorsk to Tekirdag, Türkiye, carrying 3,000 metric tons of wheat and HAZAR S (IMO 9545467) from Chornomorsk to Bandirma, Türkiye, carrying 5,500 metric tons of corn.

Destinations indicated are based on information received at the JCC and may change based on commercial activity.

As of 31 August, the total tonnage of grain and other foodstuffs exported from the three Ukrainian ports is 1,546,516 metric tons. A total of 140 voyages (77 inbound and 63 outbound) have been enabled so far.

The JCC concluded today eight inspections on four inbound vessels: AHMET CAN (IMO 9368182), NEW LEVANT (IMO 9111371), OCMIS ADVENTURE (IMO 8919831), and SALLY M (IMO 9152844), and four outbound vessels: DS SOFIE BULKER (IMO 9310604), MELINA (IMO 9550424), SILVER LADY (IMO 9279367), and SSI INVINCIBLE II (IMO 9434747). All eight vessels were cleared to sail.

The joint teams plan nine inspections tomorrow: one inbound vessel SUPER HENRY (IMO 9407483); and eight outbound vessels: ANASTASIA (IMO 8926121), ASH BALTIC (IMO 9606493), FPMC B 201 (IMO 9468229), MICHALIS (IMO 9545510), PEACE M (IMO 9086318), SAFFET AGA (IMO 9376282), S BREEZE (IMO 9317145), and SEAJOY (IMO 9213820).

As per procedures agreed at the JCC, all participants coordinate with their respective military and other relevant authorities to ensure the safe passage of commercial vessels under the Black Sea Grain Initiative.

The JCC monitors closely the passage of commercial vessels through the maritime humanitarian corridor.

It comprises senior representatives from the Russian Federation, Türkiye, Ukraine and United Nations and its role is to enable the safe transportation, by merchant ships, of grain and other foodstuffs and fertilizers from three key Ukrainian ports in the Black Sea to the rest of the world.
