01 June 2026
The International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) is an International Financial Institution and a Specialised Agency of the United Nations which has worked with Türkiye since 1982 to reduce rural poverty, strengthen food security and support sustainable rural transformation. Its work focuses on remote upland, mountainous and forest-village areas, where smallholder farmers face climate risks, limited market access and outmigration. Türkiye is IFAD’s largest recipient of financial assistance in Europe and Central Asia, with investments supporting rural livelihoods, value chains, natural resource management and climate resilience.
