The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) is the UN’s leading agency, working on population, public health and protection, as well as
one of the major UN humanitarian response organizations, with over 135 offices in the world. UNFPA began working in Türkiye in 1971.
Since then, UNFPA has collaborated with the Government of Türkiye to enhance demographic resilience and improve the lives of women and
girls, youth and people in vulnerable situations by;
- Promoting women’s rights and health, especially safe motherhood;
- Empowering women and young people;
- Strengthening protection efforts, including the prevention of violence against women and girls;
across both development and humanitarian settings, so that every woman and young person can realize their full potential and lead healthy and productive lives.
