UN-Habitat Türkiye One-Pager

UN-Habitat supports Türkiye in advancing inclusive, resilient and climate-responsive urban development through integrated urban
planning, housing, urban resilience, local gover-nance and zerowaste approaches. Building on the legacy of Habitat II, hosted in
Istanbul in 1996, UN-Habitat, as the UN system’s lead agency on sustainable urbanization, brings global urban policy expertise,
city-level implementation support, and multi-level partnerships connecting municipalities, national institutions and global processes. Its work aligns with Türkiye’s national development priorities and the UNSDCF 2026-2030, particularly on climate resilience, recovery, sustainable cities, zero-waste solutions and inclusive urban development.
